Oil paintings by Polina Shvedko
Water runs through every oil painting in this collection: the sea at Cap d'Antibes, a canyon lake in the Verdon Gorge, quiet coves and harbours on the Costa Brava. In Polina Shvedko's own words: "I love the sea! Water is my inspiration."
The largest work, Affectionate Farewell, Cap d'Antibes, France (2024), is a panoramic canvas of 190 × 45 cm: the evening sun takes leave of the sea and the yachts before the lights of Antibes come on. Two square canvases of 80 × 80 cm from 2023 show paddlers on the turquoise lake of the Verdon Gorge and weathered boats in a cove below wind-swept trees.
Four small canvases from 2021 and 2022, from 18 × 24 to 30 × 24 cm, were inspired by P. Molina: the cliffs, coves and harbours of the Costa Brava and the Bay of Roses. Sunset in a honey dream (2021, 90 × 60 cm) shows a sailboat in the glow of late evening. Open a painting to see all its photos, its size and its year.
